by Michelle Saport |
Gloria Reynaga, a student in the collaborative Creighton University/UAA occupational
therapy doctoral program, was recently selected as a participant for the American
Occupational Therapy Association and the American Occupational Therapy Foundation
(AOTA/AOTF) first annual Summer Institute of Future Scientists in Occupational Therapy.
Gloria was competitively selected for one of only 20 spots from students across the
United States. The program will match potential student scientists with doctoral
and post-doctorate mentors. Gloria will attend the Institute on May 20, 2016 in Pittsburgh,
Pa., and the "Building Bridges in Intervention Research Summit" on May 21-22, 2016.
The purpose of the Institute is threefold: (1) to identify potential scientists in
entry-level education programs; (2) to connect potential entry-level scientists with
mentors in the occupational therapy scientific community; and (3) to develop a peer
network. The scholarship will cover all expenses to attend the Institute and Research
Summit.
