Farewell to Dr. Dewain Lee, Dean of Students and Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Development

by Michelle Saport  |

After six years championing student success at UAA, Dr. Lee has accepted a new position and opportunity as Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students at Hanover College in Southern Indiana. During her time at UAA, Dr. Lee was instrumental in transforming services for our students. Dr. Lee led the Student Development team to enhance the student experience by supporting excellent student leadership opportunities, by guiding the Care Team as it manages counseling and crisis care for students, and by co-developing our Title IX program.

In addition to her work at UAA, Dr. Lee serves on multiple professional boards and committees, including the United Negro College Fund, Standing Together Against Rape and Youth Leadership Council. She also is a member of more than 15 organizations, including the National Association for Campus Activities, Association for Student Judicial Affairs, and American Association of University Women. Dr. Lee's extensive experience, professional involvement, and commitment to students will be missed within the UAA and Alaska communities.

Please join me in wishing Dr. Lee the very best for her future endeavors and appreciating her for positively contributing to Student Affairs through her leadership. Her last day with UAA will be May 6. All are invited to Dr. Lee's farewell reception, happening Wednesday, May 4, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the Student Union Den.
