Can UAA easily contact you if there's an emergency?

by Michelle Saport  |

Last week's mass notification test using our UAAlert vendor was a success. For three days prior to the exercise, UAA Emergency Management warned students and employees of the test by announcing it in the Seawolf Daily newsletter. The exercise properly used up to six methods to reach people with a test message. Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit the customer satisfaction survey.

You can modify how UAA reaches you with crisis information, by logging in to your personal profile at http://UAAlert.alaska.edu. If you did not get a test notice sent by text to your cell phone, and would like to get text alerts about university closures or emergency events, please make sure your phone number is included in your profile contact information. All currently enrolled students and employees are automatically part of the mass notification system, as federal law requires that we have the ability to send timely warnings.

If you have questions about our alert system, please contact UAA's Emergency Manager at rcswartz@alaska.edu.
