Fall 2016: Stressed? Get active with free classes from HPER

De-Stress December Whether you are a student, staff or faculty, the weeks before the year ends can be very stressful. Finals and upcoming holidays are on the horizon. For some, this time of the year leads to a lot of stress. Stress may be affecting your health, even though you might not realize it.

If you are experiencing some stress, join us for De-Stress December. Students from PEP A284, Leadership in Fitness Activities, will be leading a series of fitness activities at the Wells Fargo Sports Center. Please come and participate and offer encouragement to our students and exercise your stress away! Activities are free and open to all.

Fitness Challenge (aka Exercise Party Games) Monday, Dec. 5, 2:30-3:30 p.m. Wells Fargo Sports Complex, Gym

Semester got you down? Want to enjoy the college experience while getting exercise? Join us for some exercise party games. Exercises will include a full-body workout. All skill levels are welcome. Class size is limited to 18 participants. Bring your friends, or make some new ones while having fun and getting a workout.

Raft Relays Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1:30-4 p.m. Wells Fargo Sports Complex, Pool

Come on, come all! Bring your friends and meet us at the pool for the first-ever rafting rally. You'll be racing against the clock-and each other-in one-person inflatable rafts.

Plyometric Training Thursday, Dec. 8, 3-3:30 p.m. Wells Fargo Sports Complex, Studio (Room 206)

Having trouble finding the time to workout? Join us for an intense, 30-minute, short-interval, full-body plyometric workout that will make you sweat about something other than school.

UAA Wellness Breaks This week is also the last chance of the semester to attend most wellness breaks; see below for the complete schedule. Organizers of the wellness breaks are currently planning for next semester. One new option under consideration is adding wellness breaks for outdoor recreation. Help shape this new program by taking a few minutes to answer a survey, available here.
