Alaska's first public video phone installed at UAA/APU Consortium Library

by Michelle Saport  |

A public video phone (VP) was installed in the UAA/APU Consortium Library copy center. This phone is available during regular hours of operation and provides free video relay service for anyone who is deaf or hard of hearing and uses American Sign Language (ASL). This VP is the first to be installed in a public location in Alaska and the Disability Support Services ASL Staff Interpreter, Ann Lazenby, was instrumental in motivating the installation effort. More information about the VP can be found on the Sorenson Communications website.
