Keynote address 'Alternative Facts? The Role of Science and Philosophy in the Post-Truth Era,' presented by Eduardo Wilner Friday, March 3, 6-7:30 p.m. UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307

Science and philosophy are usually considered to be opposite extremes (between fact and opinion). Dr. Eduardo Wilner, associate professor and chair of philosophy at UAF, will argue that science and philosophy are necessary and inseparable parts of human fact-finding. Our foray into human knowing will deliver some surprising conclusions: facts need no certainty, and scientific facts are at least as factual as moose, tables or chairs.

Refreshments will be provided. Parking at UAA is free on Fridays.
