Please join the Alaska GILD Program this summer and get paid to attend and earn one credit for a summer assignment with UAA College of Health.

Are you a tenure track or term faculty with a .5 FTE or greater in a non-administrative assignment interested in becoming leaders in the field of geriatrics? Alaska GILD provides interdisciplinary leadership training for faculty who have a commitment to focus on an aspect of leadership in geriatrics.

Program benefits to faculty include one credit assignment with the UAA College of Health where you get paid to attend. Travel costs will be covered for those outside Anchorage/Mat-Su region. You will get to attend the June 2017 Southcentral Foundation Nuka Conference and Core Concepts training, which is a $4,000 value. You will have the opportunity to learn about an exciting new model of care, about Alaska Native elders and about older adult health needs that you can use to augment the current material you cover in class and your current syllabi. The end result for this course is to complete a project specific to your experience in this externship that will be shared with students within your academic courses in AY2017-18.

We will be accepting applications through April 1 for the 2017 AK GILD Program. For more information, please contact Sheila Shinn at (907) 264-6251 or email Sheila@alaskachd.org.
