Kodiak College honored with Cornerstone Award from Kodiak Chamber of Commerce

Kodiak College received the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce's 2017 Cornerstone Award during the chamber's annual banquet on Friday, Oct. 27, in recognition of the its many years of service to the community.

According to Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Trevor Brown, the Cornerstone Award is "presented annually to an individual, organization or business who, through a project, action or special concern for the community, takes the time and energy to develop or pursue a project for the betterment of all Kodiak residents."

Accepting the award on behalf of Kodiak College were Director Alan Fugleberg, Associate Professor Libby Eufemio, Associate Professor Kathryn Hollis-Buchanan, Maritme Workforce Development Coordinator L.A. Holmes and Fiscal Technician Kalynn Irwin.

Director Fugleberg notes the importance of this award to Kodiak College stating: " It is the outstanding work of the faculty and staff, day in and day out, this award recognizes. We appreciate this award very much, and thank the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce for its recognition of Kodiak College."

Past recipients of the Cornerstone Award include the Kodiak Area Native Association, Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center, Kodiak Public Library and Kodiak Arts Council.
