Alaska history from the days before statehood is rich in stories of colorful characters-prospectors, settlers, heroes and criminals. And right alongside them were the judges and lawyers, working first to establish the rule of law in the territory and then later laying the groundwork for statehood.
Don't miss this intriguing look at the history of Alaska law, as editor of the Alaska Justice Forum, Pamela Cravez, shares stories from her new book, The Biggest Damned Hat: Tales from Alaska's Territorial Lawyers and Judges.
In addition to the featured speaker, Rasmuson Foundation grantee Patt Garett will share insights into her efforts to tell the story of McCarthy's Kate Kennedy during the public engagement session.
This free, family-friendly event is the final installment of Tundra Vision's Clio Arctica Lecture Series.
