The Provost's office announces the appointment of Ms. Valerie Robideaux to the position of Director of First Year Student Advising and Success. The director will develop and lead a new First Year Advising program for UAA, manage implementation of data-driven advising and communication tools to improve student success, and collaborate on new student success initiatives to increase persistence and completion. Ms. Robideaux has a master's degree from Emory University and brings 10 years of experience in higher education leadership to the position, including founding a department to assist first- and second-year students in college transition, career exploration, and campus engagement. Her significant experience conducting program assessment and accreditation reports and working across Enrollment Services, Student Development, and Academic Affairs have prepared her well for this exciting new position. Please join me in congratulating Ms. Robideaux, who will begin this role the week of April 16.
