Title IX refresher training must be completed by Oct. 1, 2018

NOTE: This story has been updated with additional information regarding the Title IX Training refresher. In order to meet the requirement, the refresher training must be completed between July 1-Oct. 1, 2018. Training completed prior to July 1, 2018 is not eligible.
To all UAA faculty and staff,
This past year the University of Alaska adopted an employee training system within MyUA called the Employee Learning Library. This is a critical component of the University of Alaska's commitment to maintain safe and positive work environments for faculty, staff and students throughout all of our campuses and facilities.
This is an urgent reminder that all UA employees are required to complete each of four one-time training courses in addition to an annual Title IX refresher. Trainings 1-3 must be completed by June 30, 2018. Employees who have never taken the initial Title IX training (No. 4), must complete it immediately. Training 5 (Title IX refresher) must be completed between July 1 and Oct. 1, 2018.
Please note: Off-contract faculty or staff are expected to complete these trainings once they are back on contract. Those who voluntarily wish to complete the training while off contract may do so, but training must be completed as soon as possible after return to being on contract.
The training courses all employees are required to complete, and deadlines for completion, are as follows:
- Illness and Injury Prevention (One-time, due June 30, 2018)
- Hazard Communication (One-time, due June 30, 2018)
- Anti-Bullying in the Workplace (One-time, due June 30, 2018)
- Title IX Training (One-time, but must be completed immediately by new employees or by anyone who hasn't completed it before)
- Title IX Training refresher (Annually, between July 1 and Oct. 1)
