Job opening: Archives Student Assistant at the Consortium Library

The UAA/APU Archives and Special Collections has an opening for a student worker.  Archives & Special Collections provides access to unique, one-of-a-kind research materials for the University communities and members of the public. Archives student assistants perform a variety of tasks necessary for maintaining the collection and provide support services to Archives staff and to researchers (see job duties). Although personal preferences will be considered and some scheduling flexibility is offered, the Archives has limited hours and the student assistant will be expected and scheduled to work around their classes within Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Job duties include: Lifting and carrying boxes of archival materials up to 40 pounds in weight; digitizing photographs, documents, and audio materials; boxing, foldering, and labeling archival collections; and updating guides to collections.

Other duties may include: Transcribing documents, enclosing photographs and collection inventory work.
