Curated Conversations: Decolonizing Space and Pedagogy in Alaska Wednesday, Sept. 19, 6:30-8 p.m. Anchorage Museum (625 C Street)

Māori academic and educationalist Graham Hingangaroa Smith, Ph.D., presents the theory and practice of decolonizing education. A panel discussion addressing the growing number of indigenous and Alaska Native faculty and the impacts at the university level follows the presentation. Panel members discuss new pedagogies, curriculum and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

Featuring distinguished Māori Professor Graham Smith; UAA Faculty Jeane Breinig, Beth Leonard and Sharon Lind; UAF Faculty Charlene Stern; UAS Faculty Lance X'unei Twitchell; and Dr. Gary Onders, president of APU.
