Sept. 27, 2018: Katherine Irwin presents 'Deaf World: Your Magical Lesson of an Unheard World'

The last week of September is National Deaf Awareness Week. Katherine Irwin will present on Deaf Culture at the UAA Multicultural Center (MCC).
Deaf World: Your Magical Lesson of an Unheard World Thursday, Sept. 27, 3-4 p.m. UAA Multicultural Center (Rasmuson Hall, Room 106)

This presentation will have a magical theme to represent the best analogy of the Deaf Culture - the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Attendees will explore deaf history, culture and terminology. No wands necessary, but a magical curiosity is encouraged. Hope to see you at Hogwarts (MCC) on Sept. 27!

About Katherine Irwin Katherine Irwin is a senior at UAA. She is majoring in journalism and public communications and minoring in art. Since 2017, she has been a partner of UAA Disability Support Services. She is also a member of Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society and represents the Deaf community on the main campus.
