Greater Friendship Baptist Church: Race, Place & Endurance Thursday, Sept. 27, 6-8 p.m. Mountain View Library (120 Bragaw St.)

Join us at the Mt. View Library's Community Room, as public historian David Reamer shares his historical journey documenting Anchorage's Greater Friendship Church, the first African-American Church built in Alaska. Learn about how a building can convey stories of discrimination, celebration and endurance while also preserving local culture.

David Reamer graduated from UAA with a B.A. in history and is currently a public history graduate student at Southern New Hampshire University.

This is the first event in Tundra Vision's fall series: History Beyond the Classroom.
