The Faculty Senate Diversity Committee (FSDC), in collaboration with UAA's Alaskero Partnership Organizers, invites you to our Fall Diversity Dialogue, "Ethnic Studies: Value and Meaning, Then and Now," on Friday, Oct. 12, at the UAA Bookstore from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This dialogue is in conjunction with the celebration of Filipino American History Month which, this year, highlights the significant contribution of Filipino Americans in the establishment of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University, UC Berkeley and UC Davis. One of the individuals who was part of the movement that established Ethnic Studies is our guest speaker for this year's Diversity Dialogue-Daniel Phil Gonzales, professor of Asian American Studies at San Francisco State University. He will discuss a brief history of Ethnic Studies and its significance to the faculty, students, and their community both past and present.

Please save the date. We look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely, Erin Hicks & Thomas Chung, co-chairs on behalf of Faculty Senate Diversity Committee
