Oct. 12, 2018: Early Music Concert featuring America's northernmost period instrument orchestra

What is a theorbo and what does it sound like? Well, here is your chance to find out! Join us Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the UAA Recital Hall, as America's northernmost period instrument orchestra, directed by John Lutterman, takes the stage to perform an evening of concertos, sonatas and arias by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Caccini and Frescobaldi.

The central piece will be J.S. Bach's Brandenburg No. 6, and the program will also include arias from Bach's St. John Passion and the Coffee Cantata. Other repertoire will range from the late Renaissance to the high Baroque.

The evening will feature performances on the baroque flute, baroque viola, baroque cello, theorbo, baroque guitar, viola de gamba, contrabass, harpsichord, organ and vocal performances. We hope to see you at the show!
