Congratulations to the American Society of Civil Engineers, UAA Student Chapter! The team recently traveled to St. Martin's University in Lacey, Washington, for the American Institute of Steel Construction Steel Bridge competition and placed first in Aesthetics and third overall.

They also placed first in the Surveying competition at the ASCE Pacific Northwest Student Conference.

"We are super proud of our accomplishments at this year's conference; none of which could have been achieved without the hard work of our nine person Steel Bridge team, our bridge captain Aaron Murph (a graduating undergraduate in Civil Engineering), our faculty advisor Dr. Scott Hamel, the support of the UAA College of Engineering, and our many industry sponsors," said Kacy Grundhauser, incoming president for UAA's ASCE Student Chapter.
