Oct. 18, 2019: Student trip to Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and Byron Glacier
by Michelle Saport |
Join us on Friday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for a trip to Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC) and Byron Glacier for $5 (transportation, hiking water and AWCC tickets included).
Transportation is provided-we will be leaving promptly from the Gorsuch Commons at 9 a.m. We should arrive at the AWCC at 10 a.m. for the opportunity to participate in a guided tour for one hour. From 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., students can explore the center. We'll leave at 11:45 a.m. and drive to Byron Glacier for a two-hour hike. After the hike, we'll drive back to Anchorage and drop adventurers off by 3 p.m.
Participants should make sure to bring a packed lunch (AWCC's food options have closed for the year), hiking shoes, coat, and backpack to hold water or snacks.
Students can sign up at UAATix.com. Tickets are non-refundable.
Please contact Corey Miller at crmiller9@alaska.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
