UAA will celebrate Disability Awareness Week with several events Oct. 21-24 in Rasmuson Hall. See the schedule below and plan to join us for one or all events.
DSS Open House Monday, Oct. 21, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Rasmuson Hall, Suite 112
Come visit Disability Support Services (DSS) to meet our staff - then take a tour of our expanded testing and service suite. All are welcome. We look forward to visiting with you! Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Step Into My World Tuesday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Rasmuson Hall, Lobby
Join DSS and Alaska Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ACBVI) staff for a variety of interactive activities. Experience a whole new world navigating dyslexia, hearing and visual losses, mobility challenges and other disabilities.
Love on a Leash Wednesday, Oct. 23, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Rasmuson Hall, Lobby
DSS has invited several special therapy dog teams to come share the power of the human-animal bond with students, staff, faculty and guests. Rest, relax, pat a pup and enjoy a cookie!
DAPi Induction Celebration Day Thursday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Rasmuson Hall, Suite 112
Congrats! UAA's chapter of the Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society is growing! Inductees are invited to drop by DSS between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to receive a certificate and relish some refreshments.
