Nov. 1, 2019: Adler Planetarium takes over UAA's dome to present 'A Universe of Surprises'

The Kavli Foundation in Chicago is taking over the UAA Planetarium and Visualization Theater this Friday, Nov. 1. Using the Adler Planetarium and Domecasting technology, Kavli is bringing astronomical experts right to us.

A Universe of Surprises Friday, Nov. 1, 4:30-6 p.m. UAA Planetarium & Visualization Theater

Chris Lintott is a professor of astrophysics at the University of Oxford. He is involved in a number of popular science projects aimed at bringing astronomy to a wider audience, including as main presenter of the BBC TV series, The Sky At Night. Laura Trouille is vice president of citizen science at the Adler Planetarium and a research associate at Northwestern University. Together, Chris and Laura lead Zooniverse, the largest online citizen science platform, with 1.8 million participants worldwide. Together, they will be presenting "A Universe of Surprises," using the Adler's system to control UAA's planetarium and others around the world.

Free and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served.
