Career Services during coronavirus

Career Exploration and Services has transitioned to an entirely virtual model until
further notice as part of our commitment to keeping the UAA community healthy. This
means our physical doors are closed, but our virtual doors remain open to support
students with their career development needs. How can we help you help your students?
- Virtual appointments are available: UAA students and alumni can schedule virtual appointments, by phone or video with a Career Services staff member for assistance with resumes and cover letters, mock interviews, job search assistance or career exploration. Students can log in to Handshake with their UA credentials to schedule an appointment.
- Explore Handshake: Handshake is the University of Alaska's career management platform and includes thousands of employers, jobs and internships. Additionally, students can find career-related virtual information sessions and networking events relevant to their goals. With your UA credentials, you can now log in to Handshake as well to see all that is available to students and alumni through Handshake.
- Get social: Stay connected and up to date with UAA Career Services, job and internship openings, and career tips by following us on Facebook and Instagram.
- Connect us with your employer partners: Do you know of employers who are hiring? Send them our way! We would love to connect them with students by posting jobs and hosting virtual events online through Handshake.
- Offer career-related assignments: Career development doesn't have to stop during COVID-19. Contact Career Services for support on how to offer career-related assignments; ranging from career exploration, self-assessments, informational interviewing, resume development and more.
- Be a career champion: We're in this together. Share your personal experience with students, understanding that the workforce, and workplace, are constantly evolving. Serve as a mentor and coach as your students navigate college and the transition to the workforce.
