Announcing new UA Board of Regents appointees
by Sheri Buretta, Chair, UA Board of Regents |
Dear UA Community,
Today, Gov. Mike Dunleavy announced two appointments to the Board of Regents. We are delighted to welcome back Regent Dale Anderson, re-appointed to an 8-year term, and new Regent Ralph Seekins, a well-known Fairbanks business owner, UAF business leader of the year [1990] and former state senator.
Regents Anderson and Seekins will join us for our February committee meetings and the next Board of Regents meeting Feb. 25-26.
Regent Anderson is well versed in the board’s commitment to equity and diversity, and our strategic goals – developing a skilled workforce, contributing to the state’s economic development, growing our world-class research, increasing degree completions and operating more cost effectively.
Regent Seekins has previously served on many important governing boards throughout the state, including the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation.
Join me in welcoming Regents Anderson and Seekins to the Board of Regents.
Sincerely,
Sheri Buretta, Chair
UA Board of Regents
