Access to campus buildings will be expanded Monday, April 4

by Tim Edwards, Director of Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management Services & Emergency Management  |

Dear UAA Community (Anchorage),

Beginning Monday, April 4, most buildings on the UAA Anchorage campus will be accessible without a WolfCard during daytime hours. However, we recommend you keep your WolfCard with you at all times for identification to gain access if campus officials lock a building for other purposes. For students and staff attending evening classes, continue to use your WolfCard to access campus buildings.

  • Buildings on the Anchorage campus that are not connected to the east-west Spine will be open and unlocked (accessible without a WolfCard) from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Buildings and parking garages on campus that are connected to the east-west Spine will be open and unlocked from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • The UAA/APU Consortium Library will be accessible without a WolfCard and open for events during the following hours:
    • Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
    • Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • UAA facilities that will remain locked and restricted to WolfCard access, unless opened to accommodate an event or lecture, are Residence Life facilities, ANSEP buildings, the Ecosystem-Biomedical Health Laboratory, Wendy Williamson Auditorium, the Native Arts studio and various non-academic facilities support buildings.

In addition, students can continue to use their WolfCards to enter general access buildings seven days a week, 7 a.m.-11 p.m. With their WolfCards, employees can enter general access facilities 24/7, including the building in which they work. Find out more information on what campus buildings qualify as general access on the Campus Access Guidance website.

Events, including summer camps and activities, are now allowed on the Anchorage campus and physical distancing is no longer required. More information is available on the Campus Access Guidance website.

As campus opens more widely this spring, your safety is important to us. Please review campus crime prevention tips and enjoy expanded access!

Sincerely,
Tim Edwards
