AKNS Faculty to present at the Arctic Encounter Symposium at Anchorage Museum, April 7-9

AKNS Faculty will be participating in panels and presentations as part of the Arctic Encounter Symposium, part of the Anchorage Museum's NorthxNorth event April 6-9.

  • Wednesday, April 6, 11:30 a.m. - Peter Dubois (Inuit/Yup'ik) will provide a lecture, "Understanding the Colonialism and Imperialism inherent in 19th century Mining in Alaska."
  • Friday, April 8, 10 a.m. - Holly Miowak Guise will provide a keynote address.
  • Saturday April 9, 11:45 Haliehana Stepetin, Maria Williams, Peter Dubois, Holly Miowak Guise and Beth Leonard will have a panel on "Twenty First Century Indigenous Perspectives on Alaska History."
