First cohort completes Shared Equity Leadership Certificate Program

Congratulations to the first group of graduates from the UAA Shared Equity Leadership (SEL) certificate program! Shared Equity Leadership is a model of equity promotion endorsed by the American Council of Education (ACE), and our accreditor, NWCCU. The model includes a.) an examination of one’s personal journey, b.) an examination of values and c.) practices integral to equity work. Graduates attended four collaborative sessions, in-person and via Zoom, as well as developed a final SEL project.
The first cohort of graduates included team leads from the Vice Chancellor of Administrative Services office. Their final SEL projects include equitable policy review, SEL training for staff, mission/inclusiveness planning, deep-dive into SEL practices, equity gap service analysis, and more! Wow, talk about moving the needle!
The Shared Equity Leadership certificate program will be offered to all employees starting Fall 2022. The program can be completed as an individual, or as a team/employee workgroup.
