New emergency manager at UAA, John Huffman

With Ron Swartz leaving UAA after 25 years, the Environmental Health & Safety Department engaged in a recruitment for the new Emergency Manager. Applications from excellent candidates across the country were reviewed, finalists were interviewed and vetted, and ultimately John Huffman has been hired as UAA’s Emergency Manager. John earned his degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from UAF, and most recently has been working as an Emergency Management Specialist for the State of Alaska.
