National Health Education Week: Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Awareness
by Green & Gold News |
Join our student organized National Health Education Week (NHEW) campaign to improve
awareness about breast and cervical cancer screenings at UAA! The National Cancer Institute reports that Covid-19 has significantly reduced the
number of cancer screenings performed. In 2020, the United States alone, missed out
on an estimated 9.4 million screening exams.
Staying ahead and taking advantage of recommended screening tests can help detect
cancer at an early stage, and before symptoms appear. If this is your first time learning
about screening recommendations, or if you're worried about affordability, Stay Ahead UAA is here to help.
Check out our website during the month of October to learn about current breast and
cervical screening recommendations and resources available to you.
