Green & Gold News, Seawolf Daily and Seawolf Student guidelines and updates

by Green & Gold News  |

We are updating our guidelines to submit to UAA’s Green & Gold News site and our digital email newsletters Seawolf Daily and Seawolf Student. Please review the following Q&A for successful submissions to the university’s news website and digital publications to make the process more user-friendly and streamlined.

Question: How do I submit my news, article, event or announcement to Green & Gold News, Seawolf Daily or Seawolf Student?

Answer: Please use the Green & Gold News submission form to post all events, announcements and news items. University Relations will no longer be processing submissions directly emailed to the news inbox or individual UR staff members.

Question: What if I have multiple posts? Can I submit them all at once, or do I have to submit each item separately?

Answer: Each post must be submitted individually. Currently, the system/submission form can only handle one post per submission form.

Question: What if I have special instructions for my post?

Answer: Please add the instructions to the “Description” box of the submission form. If longer, more detailed instructions are needed, please email the uaa_news@alaska.edu inbox after the form is submitted. Please specify the name of the post so UR can apply the instructions to the corresponding post.

Question: What if I have a link, photo or PDF that I would like added to my post?

Answer: The Green & Gold News submission form has a “link to your website or PDF” box, but you can also email uaa_news@alaska.edu those extra materials after you submit your post through the form. Please specify the name of your post so UR can apply the link or PDF to the corresponding post.

Question: How will I know my post has been submitted?

Answer: An automatically generated email will be sent when the news inbox has received the submission.

Question: How long will it take for my item to post?

Answer: Once we’ve received a request, it will take 1-2 business days for UR to process the post. We receive many posts each day and week. To ensure everyone in the university community has an opportunity to have items posted on Green & Gold News and run in Seawolf Daily and Seawolf Student, we cannot accept last-minute requests or submissions.

Question: What if I want my post to run for an entire week or month?

Answer: Because we receive many posts each day and week, and to ensure everyone in the university community has an opportunity to have their items posted on Green & Gold News and run in Seawolf Daily and Seawolf Student, at this time, we cannot accommodate a post running daily for an entire week or an entire month.

However, items may be re-submitted each week and run once each week.
