Throughout spring 2025, Disability Services (DS) offices across the state will continue to offer free virtual training sessions to UA staff and faculty on a range of essential topics. Each 'All Access' session will include ASL interpreters and live transcription services.

Unless otherwise noted, all UA DS 'All Access' presentations will be recorded. 

The March 24 session is titled "Helperbird All-In-One Accessibility Tool Tutorial"

Session summary

Helperbird has created reading tools that make reading online easier and more enjoyable for everyone. Helperbird is a tool designed to make websites, PDFs and documents easier to read and use. It offers a range of features to support individual needs, from text adjustments to reading assistance, to help you get the most out of your online experience. Helperbird offers over 30 tools to make the web easier to use. Users can customize the web to their needs with features like Immersive Reader, dyslexia support, text-to-speech, word prediction, voice typing, and more -- all designed to help with accessibility, reading, writing, and productivity. This session will review many of the program's features and highlight how to customize and how the features can benefit users with a variety of abilities. This session is recommended for staff and faculty who work directly with students who benefit from additional support as well as for students who provide support to others or have a desire to learn how to use this great study tool.

Presenter biography

Robert James Gabriel hails from the vibrant landscapes of Ireland.
