Bozeman, Montana – The University of Alaska Anchorage had two skiers finish in the top-10 of the slalom races at the RMISA Alpine Qualifier Thursday.

Ella Bromee finished fourth (1:43.13) thanks to the second-fastest second run of the day.

Olivia Carrier and Ainsley Proffit finished 18th (1:47.16) and 20th (1:47.26).

Dylan Timm led the men’s squad with an eighth-place finish (1:36.79).

“Super stacked race today,” said head coach Sparky Anderson. “Ella skied into fourth with a great second run and just two hundredths of a second off the podium. That’s kind of how the whole day went. Such a strong field and only a few tenths of a second separated the entire flip. Another top-10 for Dylan who’s dealing with a painful broken big toe. Pretty impressive. We’re a beat-up group, but still battling to the end.”

Giorgio Baldo was 18th (1:37.33), Tommaso Olcese 22nd (1:37.81) and Carlo Cordone 25th (1:39.69).

Johs Herland of Utah won the men’s race in 1:35.26, and Sara Rask of Denver won the women’s race in 1:42.19.

UAA will compete in the first day of the RMISA Championships Friday that will feature the slalom and 7.5-kilometer classic races.
