Anchorage (March 30) – The UAA women’s basketball team will kick off its 2026-27 season with a trip to Honolulu for the prestigious Hoops In Hawaii Tip-Off Classic, head coach Matt Thune announced Monday.

The Seawolves will take the court Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at Chaminade University in the annual event, which features a traditional eight-team bracket format.

“We’re thrilled to be included in one of the premier in-season tournaments in Div. Along with the Seawolves and the host school, the 2026 Tip-Off Classic features reigning NCAA Div. II semifinalist Colorado Mesa, three-time national champion Lubbock Christian, Hawaii Pacific, St. Mary’s (Texas), Western Colorado and Winona State. Matchups and game times will be announced at a later date.
