New spring 2027 courses will be available for faculty to edit starting Oct. 20. UAA IT Services will create and test the spring 2027 courses in Blackboard the week of Oct. 12, but because we are testing a new tool for this process, please do not make any changes to your spring 2027 courses until Oct. 20. This request applies only to the newly created spring courses. Current Blackboard courses will not be affected by this process.

Background

UAA IT Services is replacing the automated system that creates and updates Blackboard courses and enrollments from Banner with Ellucian’s Intelligent Learning Platform. This change should improve course management in Blackboard and reduce student add-drop lags between the platforms. This one-week implementation window is needed to verify that the new process is working correctly and that course information is syncing as expected. Making changes to your new spring courses during this period could interfere with our ability to complete that testing and/or delete your edits.

We will send another notice to the faculty list-serv and Green and Gold News when the courses are ready for you to begin building or copying content.

We appreciate your help and patience in waiting to work on the new Spring courses while we make this transition!
