From March 24-26, UAA celebrated 49 Hours for Alaska with the university’s sixth annual Giving Day — the most successful event yet! More than 2,000 donors came together to raise over $450K for UAA students and programs.

Biological sciences alumna and 2025-26 Alumni Humanitarian Maile Johnston is a law clerk at the Alaska Supreme Court and former Miss Alaska whose advocacy work focuses on children in the foster care system and survivors of domestic violence.

Finance and marketing alumnus and 2025-26 Alumni Emerging Leader Vladislav Finko is a marketing strategist at Alaska Wealth Advisors, whose strategic initiatives have generated roughly $150 million in new assets in a single year, helping the firm surpass $1 billion in managed assets.
