2013 UAA Development Day is May 14
by Michelle Saport |
May 14 marks the 23rd UAA Development Day, a day devoted to personal and professional growth. Our keynote speaker this year is Robert Kriegel, author, workshop leader, Olympic coach, commentator and advertising executive. He will lead the day off with a talk focused on growing through change.
Workshops More than 47 workshops are being offered this year. Topics include: understanding and preparing for earthquakes; IT security with cloud computing; legal issues for supervisors; utilizing Blackboard; iPad in education; stop worrying--learn to relax; gold panning; genealogy; bike maintenance and safety; investing; social inclusion and equity; emotional intelligence; and change management. In addition, we will offer tours of the UAA Planetarium, Alaska Airlines Center and UAA/APU Consortium Library.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) One of the most exceptional things about Development Day this year is that 16 workshops satisfy requirements for Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Those who qualify will be able to earn CEUs by attending the workshops.
