UAA Feminist Scholarship available; apply by Dec. 20

The Office of Student Financial Assistance is accepting applications for the UAA Feminist Scholarship. The purpose of the award is to provide student scholarships to assist with tuition and other financial needs for students who show a feminist perspective through their studies at UAA. The selected recipient will receive up to $1,000 for the spring 2014 semester.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Recipient must be an enrolled student at UAA (full-time or part-time).
• Recipient must be directly engaged in research or other creative activity that promotes feminist principles.
• Recipient must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

To apply, students must:

• Have a current UAOnline scholarship application on file.
• Submit two (2) letters of support stating they are directly engaged in research or other creative activity that promotes feminist principles.
• Submit a brief essay describing how their studies at UAA show a feminist perspective online at this link.

Deadline:

All application materials must be received by 5 p.m. on Dec. 20, 2013, to be considered for a spring 2014 scholarship. Recipients will be notified mid-January.
