Fall 2016: Parking vehicles long-term over winter break

by Michelle Saport  |

Any vehicles that can be relocated or parked long-term over winter break should be moved to the Central Parking Garage (adjacent to the Social Science Building) any time between now and Friday, Jan. 13, 2017. Please avoid parking on the roof if possible as there are likely some dates the roof will be closed for icy conditions. This applies to fleet vehicles, student-athletes, housing residents, or others who will park a vehicle long-term over winter break. Oversized vehicles should relocate to North Parking Lot (north of Gordon Hartlieb Hall).

Permit enforcement resumes the first day of classes, Jan. 17, at 7:30 a.m. Parking permits may be purchased online at uaa.thepermitstore.com.

By relocating UAA vehicles, you are helping snow removal crews and providing a central location for UPD to concentrate safety patrols. If vehicles are driven on a regular basis or will be used over break, you may park them as usual but you may be asked to move them for snow removal or lot maintenance. Please make sure vehicles are locked and valuables are removed as Anchorage has seen an increase in crimes of opportunity, including property theft, vehicle theft and burglary.

Please direct specific parking-related questions to Parking Services at (907) 786-1119 or the Parking Call Team at (907) 786-1103 until the UAA closure on Dec. 23. During winter break, please call University Police Dispatch at (907) 786-1120 for non-emergencies or 911 for emergencies.

Please share this information with anyone who may be affected.
