Students and visitors can now pay for parking from their phones

UAA Parking Services is proud to announce its latest parking option: Passport! This new parking app gives University of Alaska Anchorage visitors, students, staff and faculty an easier way to pay for parking. No more need to stand in line at the pay station. Passport makes parking easier by allowing users to quickly and securely pay for parking from their phones.

"UAA Parking is excited to bring this new parking payment option to campus. Passport will provide additional convenience to students, staff, faculty, and visitors who can now pay for parking right from their phone without ever leaving their car, office, classroom, or study group. Convenience is especially important in Alaska's northern climate where winter temperatures frequently drop below freezing."

-Glenna Muncy, director of Parking Services

It's super easy to use. Download the app and sign up. Once a user selects the length of time they will be staying and makes a payment, they can monitor their time remaining on the app and even extend time remotely (up to the max allotted time).

UAA is launching Passport in order to offer more payment options for students, staff, faculty and visitors on campus. Passport can be found in large cities like Boston, Chicago, Toronto and Detroit. It's also used at other universities like North Carolina State University, Oregon State University, Michigan State University and University of Central Florida. The parking app is available to use at all of the 5,000 metered parking spaces on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus.

Passport is free to download from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at ppprk.com.
