Our brain affects how we interact and relate to others. The prefrontal cortex (PFC) regulates body systems. It gives us wisdom, mind sight, and empathy. Ultimately, it is the part of our brain that makes us human. This seminar explores cutting-edge research around interpersonal neurobiology.

The UAA Diversity Action Council awards the Student Diversity Award Scholarship, up to $1,000, every year to students who contribute to enhancing diversity at UAA.

As we celebrate diversity on our campus, June provides two very important opportunities to elevate conversations surrounding race, sexual orientation and gender identity.

This is a reminder that the June 30, 2020, deadline for staff performance evaluations is approaching. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring evaluations are completed for their team members. It is UA’s goal that 100% of staff members receive an annual performance review.

Scrolling through social media on any given day can often be an exercise in patience. In the wake of protests sweeping the nation in response to the death of George Floyd, the social media landscape has become particularly charged with difficult dialogue.

Congratulations to Marsha Olson, Communications, and Jackie Cason, English, this year's Community Builder Award recipients! The Community Builder Award is given to a faculty, staff, student or community member who adds to the soul of the community by his or her examples of bold leadership. Marsha and Jackie are being recognized for their ongoing efforts to foster a sense of civic community at UAA.
