Kenai Peninsula College, Kenai River Campus is accepting employment applications for the position of Facilities Operations and Maintenance Supervisor. This position is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the Kenai River Campus facilities, supervises three full time employees and works closely with the director regarding facilities budget, oversight and development. This is a 12-month, full time position offering benefits and tuition waivers. It is a grade 80, exempt position with a bi-weekly salary of $2,235.20. UA to extend COVID-19 sick leave availability to June 30, 2021
On April 1, 2020 the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) went into effect and created new leave balances for all university employees. Under current federal law, options will sunset on December 31, 2020. The University of Alaska, however, recognizing the need for employees to have access to COVID-19 leave will extend the leave benefits through June 30, 2021. The university will not be replenishing any used Emergency Sick Leave (ESL) or Expanded Family and Medical Leave (EFML), but this does mean that new hires after December 31, 2020 will also receive Emergency Sick Leave balances and be eligible to apply for EFML.
Nov. 13: College Behind Bars segment screening
We invite you to join UAA Student Success and Native Student Services in screening a 30-minute segment of the highly acclaimed College Behind Bars series on Friday, Nov. 13. The virtual screening will begin at Noon followed by a live question-and-answer session with Sebastian Yoon, Bard Prison Initiative alum. This screening will not only demonstrate the power of education, but it also raises critical questions about prison and educational opportunities that we need to address.
