A shot of hope: Pharmacy students contribute to vaccination efforts

A UAA/ISU Doctor of Pharmacy student administers the COVID-19 vaccine to a healthcare worker.

Students from the Doctor of Pharmacy Program understand the personal and historical significance of vaccinating Alaskans against COVID-19. This has left them feeling grateful and excited after they administered hundreds of vaccine doses to senior citizens in recent weeks.

Early notice of townhome rental available for Fall Semester 2021

2 BR, 2.5 bath Townhome on trail system between downtown and UAA, convenient to everything! Bikes available for use, fully furnished, can be rented through Furnished Finders or by contacts given here. Available anytime after Aug 1 and until end of January. This is our home, and we are visiting with family on east coast for an extended period of time this year. Our dates can be flexible. The house includes a gas fireplace and our very special electric sauna on the back deck. Partial Mountain View and creekside as it is at end of development with a park up the street and close proximity to Chester Creek Trail leading to UAA or Coastal Trail and downtown. We have bicycles that you are welcome to use on the trail system. Hospitals are bike-able and walk-able from here. We have a small dog that travels with us, and the house is very clean. We would consider a pet request with a pet deposit. We keep our house very clean, and you would not know that a pet lives here.

GSS digital calendars are available now

UAA General Support Services has for many years provided a complimentary wall calendar for staff and faculty, noting holidays and paydays. With so many employees working from home at this time, the logistics of distributing a printed calendar proved overwhelming so we required a different approach this year! GSS is providing a complimentary calendar but in a digital format. Multiple options have been created, including a printable version. The calendar is now available online from the GSS homepage at uaa.alaska.edu/gss.

CircleIn is now live at UAA!

The Office of Student Success is sponsoring CircleIn at UAA for the Spring 2021 semester. CircleIn is an app that allows students to study remotely with classmates, ask and answer questions about coursework, create flashcards to study for quizzes and exams, and post notes and share resources. Even better, the experience is gamified so students can earn gift cards and scholarships as rewards for engaging with the platform and helping their peers. If you would like to learn more about CircleIn, please contact Joe Bruner at jcbruner@alaska.edu.
