At UAA, have you ever received a Timely Warning for stalking and thought, “What does stalking really mean? We often use the word lightly, but the definition for Title IX/Clery Act purposes is: engaging in a course of conduct directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to fear for the person’s safety or the safety of others; or suffer substantial emotional distress. This can refer to in-person behavior, but also online stalking via social media, text, etc. If someone is causing you fear for your safety or the safety of others, please contact the Office of Equity and Compliance at 907-786-0818 or uaa_titleix@alaska.edu. As always, in an emergency situation, contact UPD at 907-786-1120 or 911.
