Accounting Services is now the Office of the Bursar and is relocating

UAA Accounting Services is now the UAA Office of the Bursar! This change better aligns with the functions of our office as well as with our counterparts at UAF and UAS.

Dec. 4, 2020: RISC Survey Analysis Webinar

Vice Provost for Student Success Claudia Lampman invites you to attend a RISC Survey Analysis webinar on Friday, Dec. 4, from 9-10 a.m. via Zoom. The RISC survey, conducted in February and early March, assessed student- identified barriers to success and student views of their UAA experience. The detailed, actionable data reveals student perspectives of our institutional strengths and challenges related to affordability, campus environment, and social support.

Dec. 4, 2020: 'Chasing Coronaviruses 2002-2020' with Dr. Meg Howard

The UAA Biological Sciences Seminar presents Dr. Meg Howard, who will be speaking about SARS-CoV-2 emergence, shift from localized pandemic to global event and a discussion of pandemic response and how this will inform the next Disease X. Dr. Meg Howard is a principal investigator with broad expertise in molecular virology, EID, biological surveillance and applied biological research. Experience leading CONUS/OCONUS research and surveillance programs, basic research and OpEx programs for various USG funding agencies (DARPA, NIH, NSF, DTRA, USFS, EPA, etc.). Expertise in Coronavirus, Influenza, Measles and other emerging infectious diseases.

UAA Financial Services and Budget Office relocated to ESH

After 17 years at the University Center, UAA Financial Services (Cashiering, Accounts Payable, Bursar's Office, Wolfcard & Financial Systems) and the Budget Office are moving back to campus! We'll be moving to ESH (Eugene Short Hall) the week of Dec. 7. We will have limited phone and email availability during that week, so please be patient when contacting us. We hope to be back up and operating on Monday, Dec. 14.

UAA Faculty Development and Instructional Support is seeking applications for an Associate Director of the Center for Community Engagement & Learning (CCEL), the primary entity responsible for promoting and supporting service ­learning and community ­engagement at UAA and its affiliated community campuses. Established as a Center by the University of Alaska Board of Regents in 2000, CCEL enables the university to effectively carry out its community engagement mission while connecting faculty, courses, and academic programs with community needs. The Center advocates for and supports the use of scholarship and action for the mutual benefit of the University, the State, its communities, and its diverse peoples.

Supervising for Success Training

The University of Alaska Human Resources is pleased to announce the Supervising for Success training series. There are three modules, each scheduled for 1.5 hours. Topics include effective employee management and supervisor responsibilities, overview of pertinent policies and regulations, workplace safety and accommodation, basic compensation, recruitment and retention, conflict resolution, performance management, and professional development.
