“There has never been a better time to attend UAA than this fall,” said UAA Interim Chancellor Bruce Schultz. “UAA anticipates receiving more than $10 million in federal coronavirus relief funding to award to registered students this coming academic year as scholarships and grants. The fall semester is an excellent time for students to return to school to enhance existing skills or retrain so they are qualified for the best jobs in our recovering economy.”

UAA's Department of Residence Life is now recruiting for our Alaska Native, Indigenous, and Rural Outreach Program Coordinator. The Department of Residence Life at the University of Alaska Anchorage provides students with a living and learning environment that supports the academic experience. The Alaska Native, Indigenous, and Rural Outreach Program (ANIROP) Coordinator plays a vital role in welcoming and supporting our Alaska Native and Indigenous residents, as well as residents from rural areas.

Faculty and staff are preparing for in-person operations this fall. Employees will begin returning to on-campus work in late May and June. Some functions and activities will be available to students currently taking summer courses. On Aug. 2, the Anchorage campus will open to all faculty, staff and students.

On Tuesday, May 18, UAA will partner with local law enforcement departments to facilitate a police training drill that will restrict some vehicle traffic on the east side of the Anchorage campus. While this is just a training exercise, it is designed to simulate real emergency situations.
