Chancellor's Awards for Excellence accepting nominations through May 14

The Chancellor's Awards for Excellence program is accepting nominations for the 2021 awards now through May 14. These awards recognize UAA employees for extraordinary work and dedication to our students and university community.

Please nominate faculty or staff who have made a positive impact on your experience at UAA. The nomination process is simple and easily completed in 15-20 minutes. For most categories, nominators only need to provide basic nominee information and a short answer (250 words or fewer) as to how the candidate meets the criteria.

Awards are open to individuals and groups from the Anchorage campus or one of UAA's community campuses. Winners will receive $250.00. (Groups may be nominated for any category, but only one monetary prize will be issued per award.)

This year's program accepts nominations in five categories with a total of six awards. Award categories align with UAA's aspirations as outlined in the UAA 2025 Strategic Plan:

• We Put Students First: The Students-First Award
  
  • Demonstrates exceptional commitment to advancing a culture of institutional excellence that inspires and enables student achievement and success.
• We Create a Culture of Equity and Inclusion by Embracing our Diversity: Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Outstanding contribution to the advancement of diversity of UAA students, staff and faculty through increasing the visibility and representation of diverse voices, creating an atmosphere of inclusiveness and community.
• We Embrace our Role as a Trusted and Respected Community Partner: The Community Partnership Award
  • Outstanding contribution to the advancement of UAA students, staff and faculty while increasing the alignment to meet the community needs.
• We Accelerate Excellence Through Continuous Improvement: Administrative Excellence Award
  • Exercises leadership, initiative and outstanding teamwork capabilities that create a positive atmosphere, and consistently performs at a level above normal job requirements to advance a culture of institutional excellence that inspires and enables student, faculty and staff success.
• We Positively Impact Communities and the World Through Innovation: Chancellor’s Choice Award
  • Award for achievement and/or innovation (best idea) in a category/theme of the Chancellor's choice. The theme for 2021 is student enrollment.

Submit your nominations by 5 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021. Winners will be announced at UAA Convocation in August 2021.
