Ski captain chasing academic and athletic awards
Ski team captain Curtis McKillop is a frequent academic honoree and top-20 finisher on the slopes. That's why this management and marketing major is hoping to net both athletic and academic top prizes during his senior season. "I’m setting my eyes on both,” he said.

Tiny fish, big impact
Student researchers at UAA are examining the threespine stickleback—a centimeters-long fish common in Anchorage parks—to better understand how genetic variations affect immune response in humans. Funded by the National Institute of Health, it's hyper-local research with national implications.
