Due to unsafe road conditions for Anchorage and surrounding areas, UAA’s Anchorage campus will be on a delayed start today, Thursday, Dec. 4. Campus will open at 10 a.m. to allow for safer travel.
CAS Celebration of Students
The College of Arts and Sciences hosts the CAS Celebration of Students every year on the last Friday of Spring Semester. At this event, the College honors one student from each department with a scholarship for the following academic year. These students were selected by their respective departments in recognition of their academic excellence. The ceremony also recognizes CAS Scholarship Recipients who recieved one of the named scholarships offered through the College. Beginning with a recognition and awards ceremony, the event also had a reception that followed the ceremony. In addition to inviting the scholarship recipients, the students’ friends and family members, CAS Department Chairs, UAA Chancellor Parnell, and donors who contributed to the CAS Excellence Fund were invited to attend.
