Update on Summer Student Housing
Due to the impacts of COVID-19, on-campus housing at UAA will operate at a reduced capacity and with limited services in summer 2021. Only applicants meeting certain exception criteria such as in-person classes, inadequate internet access at home, or other collegiate obligations to be physically on campus will be approved to live in campus housing. Students meeting one of the above criteria who are interested in living on campus can complete an "Interest in Summer Housing Form" found on their Housing Page on UAOnline to request consideration for campus housing. For information on how to access your Housing page on UAOnline, please visit the How-to-Apply webpage. Once you've completed the form, Residence Life staff will follow up with you on next steps.
The Centers for Disease Control has indicated that high-density congregate housing is risky due to the infectious nature of COVID-19. Special policies and procedures related to COVID-19 have been instituted on campus, including single-occupancy in all suites and apartments to promote social distancing. For this reason, availability in campus housing is limited. Students who don't fall into the exception criteria to live on campus should plan to participate in online courses at home if possible or pursue other off campus housing arrangements in non-congregate environments.
The University provides a limited number of single-person spaces in the MAC Apartments for students enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits over the course of the summer or student staff employed by UAA Housing, Conference Services, Residence Life or ANSEP summer programs.
Each apartment contains a shared living room, kitchen, and bathroom, in addition to four single-person bedrooms. Apartments are fully furnished, including a dishwasher, dining table, sofas, chairs, desks, and beds (mattresses are 36"x80").
Residents will need to provide their own linens, pillows, blankets, cookware, and eating utensils. There is a credit/debit card operated washer/dryer facility on-site. The apartments are about a 10-minute walk from the library, Student Union, sports center, and classrooms.
For information about summer dates and deadlines, please visit the Important Dates page.
Guest Housing for Non-Students
UAA also offers economical guest lodging in the summer for non-students. Please see the UAA Guest Housing Services website for more information on summer housing options.
Services for Students with Disabilities
A number of the apartments are specifically designed to accommodate students with both temporary and permanent disabilities. Students who experience disabilities and need housing-related adjustments or accommodations should notify the Housing Office and should contact the Office of Disability Support Services to request an accommodation.
Summer 2021 Housing Rates
$2,875 for both summer sessions. Rates are prorated accordingly for students staying for only one five-week session.
Note: A $60 non-refundable application fee and $300 refundable reservation/damage deposit is required at the time of application for all new students. All other housing charges will be applied to student accounts.
